Christians always say the bible is the "main way God communicates with us". Where does this idea come from? People haven't always had the bible, and some people don't have it now. Why do Christians put so much emphasis on reading/knowing it? Did God really just stop talking to people at some point and say "now I will speak to you through the bible?"
Something I've always wanted to have explained to me... There is scientific proof of human evolution and dinosaurs during the Ice Age so... Why does the bible not mention any of this and just starts with Adam and Eve????
Paul said women should not speak in church; they should wait to ask questions of their husbands at home. Knowing that Paul almost always wrote to a specific church, it seems that we pick and choose which parts of the bible are cultural remnants and which are applicable to us today. Do you think we should uphold this? Is it alright to interpret?
Can you tell us more about the book of Proverbs and how it came to be? Why does it seem to be repetitive in parts? I assume there were several contributors/authors, is that one reason?
To the accuracy of the the bible... How old does the bible say or discribe the earth to be, and does that fit with the other accounts of the age of the earth?
How was the bible compiled? what about other books that weren't included why?
